Centenary Presentations

1. In honor of the centenary of C.S. Lewis's birth, on November 29, 1998, I was privileged to present a lecture on Lewis, entitled "The Life, Work and Influence of C.S. Lewis," at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, Kentucky on November 3, 1998 as part of their Cultural Affairs program. (An adapted version of this same lecture was presented as a pre-session introduction to C.S. Lewis at the 1999 "C.S. Lewis and Friends" Conference at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana on November 12, 1999)

2. On Friday and Saturday of that same week, November 6-7, 1998, I was honored to also present a two-evening multimedia program entitled, "Two Evenings with C.S. Lewis: The Man Who Created Narnia," for the Cumberland County Arts Council at the First Christian Church in Burkesville, Kentucky. (Local news release, poster & program) (Part 1)(Part 2)

3. On November 19-20, 1998 I presented the program, "C.S. Lewis and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," for our 5th grade classes at the Cumberland County Elementary School after they had viewed the BBC video version of the book. I was then invited back for a reception to review and receive projects that they had done - such as posters, book covers, poems, letters, etc.- the week after I had made my presentation. (See pictures of student projects and reception.) In preparation for this presentation I sent some information related to Lewis and what I was going to share to the teachers of the students.
